The Legal stuff made easy!
We ensure all legal requirements are made as easy as possible so your car is removed from the DVLA database.
You:
- Sign the V5 document (the ‘log book’) section “Sale to Motor Trade or Dismantler”
- Post your section to DVLA. We recommend you keep a photocopy.
We:
- Sign the V5 document (the ‘log book’) as the purchaser.
- Hand our section of the V5 document as the purchaser to the ATF (Approved Treatment Centre). The ATF directly deletes your vehicle from the DVLA database.
- A Certificate of Destruction is available on request once the vehicle has been scrapped.
We can still buy vehicles without a V5 document but the responsibility of informing the DVLA is solely with the registered keeper of the car and failure to do so may result in a penalty.
Unfortunately DVLA will not accept the purchasers request to scrap without a V5.
